Beyond the Workplace: DeliverKingdom Team Takes on Hong Kong’s MacLehose Trail

October 30, 2026 | DeliverKingdom Team Activities

On October 30, 2026, 35 members of the DeliverKingdom team stepped away from their daily work routines for a hiking adventure along Hong Kong’s famous MacLehose Trail.

The journey took the team through the coastal landscapes of Sai Kung, from the sandy shores of Sai Wan and Ham Tin Wan to the quiet village of Chek Keng, before reaching the finishing point at Pak Tam Au.

It was a day filled with beautiful scenery, unexpected encounters, shared laughter, and a welcome opportunity to spend time together outside the workplace.

Starting the Journey at Sai Wan Pavilion

The adventure began at Sai Wan Pavilion, where the team set off along the trails of Sai Kung East Country Park.

Instead of office desks and computer screens, the surroundings were now green hills, winding footpaths, and sweeping views of the coastline.

As the group made its way toward Sai Wan, the landscape gradually opened up to reveal one of Hong Kong’s most beautiful coastal areas.

Walking together also created opportunities for conversations that might not normally happen during a busy working day. Away from their usual responsibilities, colleagues could enjoy the journey at their own pace while sharing the experience with the wider team.

A Relaxing Break at Sai Wan Beach

One of the highlights of the day was the team's stop at Sai Wan Beach.

With its soft sand, clear coastal waters, and surrounding green hills, the beach offered a refreshing change of scenery after the first part of the hike.

Some team members spent time playing at the water’s edge, while others relaxed on the beach or took photographs of the scenery and their colleagues.

These simple moments became an important part of the day. There was no meeting agenda or work deadline to think about, just an opportunity to enjoy the surroundings and each other's company.

After spending time at Sai Wan, the team continued along the coastal trail toward Ham Tin Wan, another scenic beach along the route.

Wildlife Encounters Along the Trail

The hike also introduced the team to a different side of Hong Kong.

Beyond its familiar city skyline, Hong Kong is home to extensive country parks where wildlife and free-roaming cattle can still be encountered.

Along the route, the team spotted cattle living freely in the countryside, adding an unexpected touch to the hiking experience.

These encounters offered a reminder that Hong Kong is not only a city of skyscrapers and busy commercial districts. Its rural landscapes have their own distinct character, where natural surroundings and traces of traditional village life remain part of the scenery.

Discovering the Quiet History of Chek Keng

After passing through Ham Tin Wan and continuing toward Tai Long Au, the team entered a quieter section of the trail.

One particularly memorable sight was the collection of old village houses near the coast at Chek Keng.

Unlike the busy beaches earlier in the journey, this area offered a different atmosphere. Weathered buildings stood near the peaceful shoreline, surrounded by greenery and the remains of a traditional rural settlement.

Chek Keng has a history stretching back more than two centuries and was once home to a Hakka community. Many of its traditional houses have since been abandoned as residents moved away over the decades.

For the DeliverKingdom team, passing through this area added a cultural dimension to the hike. The old village houses provided a glimpse of Hong Kong's rural past, far removed from the modern city that most international visitors know.

Reaching Pak Tam Au Together

The final part of the journey led the team away from the coastal villages and back onto the hillside trails toward Pak Tam Au.

By this stage, the group had already spent hours walking across varied terrain, including sandy beaches, uphill paths, and forested sections.

Completing the route required patience and physical effort, particularly as the day progressed.

All 35 team members successfully reached Pak Tam Au, bringing the hiking adventure to a satisfying conclusion.

From there, the group boarded a bus back to Sai Kung before continuing by bus toward the Heung Yuen Wai/Liantang border crossing for the journey home.

More Than Just a Team Hiking Trip

At DeliverKingdom, day-to-day work involves communication, coordination, and attention to detail across different responsibilities.

A team outing provides a different setting for the same colleagues to connect. Conversations become more spontaneous, people share experiences beyond their usual tasks, and everyone gets to know one another outside the workplace.

The MacLehose Trail hike was not a formal training exercise or a corporate meeting. It was simply a day for the team to explore somewhere new, enjoy nature, and create shared memories.

From playing by the water at Sai Wan Beach to discovering the old village houses of Chek Keng and finally arriving at Pak Tam Au, each part of the journey contributed to the experience.

For DeliverKingdom, the people behind the business matter just as much as the work they do. Activities like this offer a chance to strengthen personal connections and build a positive, supportive working environment.

The hiking day may have ended at Pak Tam Au, but the photographs, conversations, and memories will remain with the team long after everyone returns to their daily routines.
